Klimakrisen er potentielt det mest katastrofale aspekt af kapitalismens generelle krise.Politikerne bruger store ord om deres planer for at begrænse omfanget af konsekvenserne, men sandheden er, at truslen ikke kan afværges inden for kapitalismens rammer. Der hersker en tro på, at vi som individer gennem ændring af vores forbrugsvaner kan afværge katastrofen, men dette er blot endnu en måde for virksomhederne at tjene penge på en desperat situation – så længe produktionen er underlagt virksomhedernes profithensyn, kan vi ikke omstille den globale økonomi på en måde, der tager hensyn til miljøet. De tekniske løsninger er til stede, men de er utilgængelige under det kapitalistiske system.

Med en demokratisk planøkonomi kan vi prioritere flertallets interesser over profitten til de få. Denne omvæltning kan vi ikke skabe alene; det kræver en massebevægelse og en stærk revolutionær organisation.

The Climate Crisis is potentially the most catastrophic aspect of the crisis of capitalism. The politicians use big words about their plans to limit the extent of the consequences, but the truth is that the threat cannot be prevented within the limits of capitalism. A prevalent belief is that we as individuals can avoid the catastrophe through a change in our consumer habits, but this is simply another way for businesses to earn money from a desperate situation – as long as the production is managed by the businesses who are only taking profit into consideration, we cannot change the global economy in a way that has respects the environment. The technological solutions exist, but they are unreachable under the capitalist system.

With a democratic planned economy we can prioritize the majority’s interests over the profit of the few. We cannot create this radical change alone; it demands a mass movement and a strong revolutionary organization.
